Overview

A beautiful summer or fall evening, cocktails made with local spirits, seasonal fruit “shrubs” and fresh herbs; hors d’oeuvres with Idaho ingredients; and the piece de résistance – a four-course, wine-paired, family-style dinner at a long table on a working farm with local farmers as our honored guests.

This is an “elevated” experience in myriad ways, grounded – literally and metaphorically – in the earth that produced the food on the table. Elevated by accomplished chefs who create extraordinary tastes with the season's best offerings. And by adorning a real working farm with wine glasses, candles and table linens, guests and farmers alike are treated to a truly unique fine-dining experience –all above 5,000 feet.

A celebration of the Idaho harvest and the farmers who provide it, our $150-per-plate feast raises critical funds for Local Food Alliance’s operating expenses and initiatives. The event simultaneously implements mission-critical strategies: demonstration of the unparalleled taste of fresh, seasonal, local food; in-person connections between community members and those who produce their food; and the opportunity to learn about how our food is produced.

The Elevated Table dinners showcase fresh seasonal ingredients from the small family farms that LFA is working hard to promote. It brings together locavores, farmers, and community members around a shared table, to celebrate the harvest, and the hard work we each do to ensure a resilient community. For guests, it is a chance to experience farm to table cooking at its best. The chef, farmers, and event producers work together to create a meal that highlights delicacies of our Idaho terroir. From early season greens, peas and radishes to late season winter squash, root vegetables and grains, our Elevated Table series shines the light on the ultra-local, ultra-fresh harvest from our local producers.
